Events are designed to raise funds for HELP of Beaufort’s services.  In return for support of businesses, HELP will utilize social and print media to promote your business in appreciation for your support. Some examples of how you can do an event for HELP:

  • Donate gift cards from your business to be donated to HELP for food or gasoline.
  • Invite our volunteers to wait tables with tips being donated to HELP.
  • Hold a dinner or lunch with the profits being donated to HELP.

Schools and churches that regularly hold food drives and/or donate food to HELP:

  • Beaufort Academy
  • Rober Smalls Middle School
  • The Baptist Church of Beaufort

Current and annual events:

  • Happy Days for HELP is HELP of Beaufort’s largest fundraising activity.  It is held each spring.  Watch the website for updates, registration and ticket purchases on this event.
  • Fish Fry: HELP sponsors a yearly fish fry.
  • Fat Patties donates the proceeds of tips to HELP for one night with HELP volunteers being the wait staff.
  • Fripp Island Lady’s Club held a fundraising dinner for HELP in 2013.
  • Kangaroo Pantry selected HELP as a local non-profit to feature during their “What’s New at the Roo” campaign in June, 2013. Kangaroo Pantry donated more than $2,500 to HELP and provided gift cards for our clients to purchase food and gasoline at their stores.
  • Lowcountry Giving Day sponsored by the Coastal Community Foundation: HELP was invited to participate in this on-line giving event in May. An Incentive donor, Hamilton Boykin, donated $4,000 for HELP to participate. HELP volunteers worked to publicize the event in order to match the donation of Mr. Boykin. May 5, 2015 is the day.

Drives:

pic4Drives provide individuals, groups, churches, businesses and others an opportunity to collect needed items for HELP.

Churches donate throughout the year.

  • St. John's Lutheran holds a yearly Chili Drive which benefits HELP. Their youth have participated in raising funds.
  • The Baptist Church of Beaufort has a HELP of Beaufort Ministry Team, whose purpose is to help coordinate the regular donations of food.

We welcome donations from the public as well. A number of young students have turned their birthday parties into a canned food drive for HELP of Beaufort. Abigail Henry, Jack McDougal and Gavin Midgette have all asked their friends to bring canned food to their birthday parties instead of gifts.
