HELP of Beaufort's mission is to provide emergency assistance to the
people of Beaufort County and surrounding areas with specific basic needs.

Getting Involved


Volunteer Opportunities: *Most needed:

  1. *Floor Organizers: Keep the clothing area organized by type of clothing.

  2. Greeters:  Greeting and directing our clients.

  3. Interviewers:  Interviewers work with the greeter and clients to determine their needs. Charity Tracker database is used to enter information on each client's Assistance, Income, and Expenses. Service providers are notified of HELP's commitment via SnagIt or fax. No funds are kept at HELP. Training is provided.
  4. *Pantry workers: Fill food orders, keep canned items sorted, and ensure refrigerators are monitored for correct temperature.

  5. Receptionists:  Log in clients, enter client data into an Excel Spreadsheet, and bag client clothing. Training is provided for data entry into Excel.

  6. *Sorters: Sort and hang the donated clothing items in our store.

Mobile Meals Volunteers: Drivers: Pickup prepared meals from Beaufort Memorial Hospital and deliver them in the city of Beaufort, Port Royal and Lady’s Island. Meals are delivered Monday through Friday, 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
